Tribal fusion bellydance is a dance form that integrates movements from a variety of cultures
especially those of the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, Spain, and India. It is rooted
in tradition and serves to celebrate the human spirit and provide a means of expression that
displays one's physical strength and beauty as well as the unique interaction within the community
as a whole. It is a celebration of all stages of life through music and dance. Classes are held

<P>We are a group of folks in the Lynchburg area who found we shared an interest in learning and
practicing Tribal dance and music, mainly hand drums. Dance classes are available on Tuesdays at
MindBody Studio in Lynchburg, VA. On alternate Tuesday evenings we hold a hafla/rehearsal for

I am originally from Michigan where I was a member of the Habibi Dancers Middle Eastern Dance
Troupe for over 10 years and have performed at Middle Eastern night clubs in the US and Canada.
I am teaching Beginning and Advanced belly dance classes through the University of Virginia
Short Courses Program. Classes start February 17, 2004 and run for 8 weeks. Registration is
open to UVa students as well as non-students. This is a non-credit course. University enrollment
