Heather and Jennifer

Heather and Jennifer are both members of Mandara, a tribal fusion bellydance ensemble from Southwest Virginia. For both, movement has always been an integral part of their lives, personally and professionally, and the joy it can bring is something that they love to share with others. Together they teach classes in what is best described as tribal fusion bellydance. Tribal fusion style bellydance is a dance form that integrates movements from a variety of cultures especially those of the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, Spain, and India. It is rooted in tradition and serves to celebrate the female spirit and provide a means of expression that displays the physical strength and beauty of women as well as their unique interaction within the community as a whole. It is a celebration of womanhood in all stages of life through music and dance. Heather and Jennifer offer classes that serve to facilitate this celebration through movement. Classes are open to all ages and skill levels and serve to create a fun, safe atmosphere to allow participants to explore, create, and communicate with their own dance and to share it with those around them. Participants will learn basic tribal movements, combinations, and how to dance them with others. More information...
